Hi, no worries about the delay of response. I also did not have so much time to play around with it.
Generally there is a nodejs and a ffmpeg package available for raspbian as well (the raspbian I'm using is based on debian strech and therefore somehow similar to ubuntu, but not real ubuntu).
I downloaded from your git repo this week. As said I followed the instructions as described on http://shinobi.video/docs/start (Ubuntu: The hard way).
You were right. I tried with user root and that did not work. I created a seperate account as recommended in the instructions and now it's running. CPU usage is smooth. Give me some times Torrent to play around and maybe I can give feedback to community about my experience. Gogoanime
Thank you very much! TurboTax
Hi, I have a working setup of zoneminder with 4 cams running. Im running the cams (old android phones) at low resolution 640x480 as I only trigger a screen in my living room to turn on if a car enters the driveway.
@vladoportos said in Can't delete videos on Video List:
I noticed strange behavior when I click the middle icon under camera that will take me to the video list recorded by that camera, i can view the video, priew just fine... deleting do nothing though.... if I select video and hit delete = nothing, mark all videos and hit delete = nothing... only way to delete videos from UI for me is to go back and hit "Show Logs" and there I can see also list of videos and there when I hit delete it will finally delete the video. Any idea why is that ?

I'm using "secondary" storage location with is cif mounted FS from NAS.
I have this exact problem too after installing Shinobi today. Everything else seems to be working fine with the exception of this. I am however using default storage. I'd love to hear from the dev on this.
Ok, it's been over a week now with Shinobi, wanted to give a small update with some issues still present.
First, I'm rather disappointed to see that Moe has not been online since August.
Why create a Shinobi forum only to let it go abandoned? That's a shame, moreover because he commented (rightfully so) on the lousy Zoneminder forum.
So how does it run over a week? Well, pretty stable. Only two issues left at this point.
The poseidon streaming method, though using little cpu, has it quirks.
When opening the browser and the Shinobi dashboard, the cams with poseidon streaming have stuttering video.
The only way to resolve this is to close the monitors and reopen them again from the sidebar.
Likewise, when the monitors are displaying a black screen, it is necessary to reload the page.
Although not a deal breaker, it's not polished either and it should not happen.
It's really a bit of a "beta" feeling.
Second issue I haven't been able to tackle is the automatic deletion of videos after xx days.
I've set it at 10 days, and the events in the database are being deleted correctly, but the actual videos remain on disk.
Now this may have to do with me symlinking the storage folder.
Previously I commented that the second storage option in the "config.json" was not respected.
I set it to record to another (4TB) disk, but Shinobi happily kept recording to the internal SSD drive.
So in an effort to force it to record to the 4TB disk, I made a symlink to the drive and it worked fine.
That however could be the reason that cron does not delete the videos, maybe it doesn't follow symlinks?
I'm too much of a n00b to grasp what is happening here so I'll just delete the vids manually until Moe one day comes around and throws me a bone.
Other than the above issues, Shinobi has been working great.
